KeeFox Simple and secure password management
for Firefox users with KeePass

Privacy and cookie policy

This policy applies only to the website*, NOT KeeFox itself.

Data collection and retention

You can choose to submit your email address to the Feedburner subscription service (currently owned by Google) in order to receive notifications of updates on the KeeFox website - you may want to review their privacy policy when you sign up. Alternatively, you can receive update notifications via the RSS service - this also relies on feedburner but your use of the service is completely anonymous.

In order to contact the webmaster of KeeFox.org you will need to provide a valid email address. This will be retained indefinitely in the webmaster’s email client but will be used only to contact you in relation to the queries or comments you submit. If you would like your original emails to be deleted one year after their submission please just include a note to that effect in your message.

Automatically collected data

As with the vast majority of web sites, the KeeFox website automatically logs information about every request made of it. This information is used for system administration, for bug tracking, and for producing anonymous usage statistics. The logged information may be kept indefinitely.

Data may on occasion be passed to the administrators of other computer systems/networks to enable investigation of abuse, problems accessing this site or misconfiguration. Otherwise the logged information is not passed to any third party except if required by law.

Cookies

Cookies (small files stored on your computer’s hard drive) are not required by the KeeFox website directly but several third party services require their use.

KeeFox sets a cookie which expires at the end of your browsing session. It is not actively used to track you and is automatically deleted when you close your browser.

KeeFox uses Google Analytics to anonymously monitor site usage and this information helps to improve the site. No individuals are identified in this process but the analytics does require the setting of some cookies.

Social sharing features are used on KeeFox to help you tell others about KeeFox. They also provide anonymised access statistics such as click rates. Since KeeFox is not setting these cookies they are not directly covered by this policy and you should read the policies of the third-party service for details on their cookie usage:

  • ShareThis
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Google

Removing or rejecting cookies set by third-parties will not affect your use of the KeeFox website.
